Breakfast

Breakfast may be purchased daily and is available from 8:10 AM to 8:50 AM in the cafeteria. Children who are eligible for free breakfast are also eligible for free or reduced lunch.  

Lunch 

Children may bring bag lunches or lunch may be purchased. For more information on our lunch payment system or questions regarding lunch menus, visit the GNPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services.

Recess

E.M. Baker will remain consistent with past District practices regarding outdoor recess and play in terms of cold temperatures and snow. All students should dress accordingly, as they would for any northeast outdoor activity, this time of year. The New York State Department of Health strongly encourages schools to maintain outdoor play periods more times than not during the winter months. We are hoping for a mild winter, and more outdoor than indoor recesses. To this end, please review the following:

Unless it is snowing (not flurrying), or there is ice on the playground, blacktop, and areas of grass, low temperatures will not prevent outdoor recess from occurring. Outdoor recess will take place when the "RealFeel" temperature is 32 degrees and above. The RealFeel is a matrix that uses multiple factors like temperature, wind, and humidity to explain how the temperature "feels," not what it actually reads on a thermometer.​​​​​​
